1000x Stars! This Disc Totally Swings!!.......2003-07-18
This is one bopping disc featuring Powell's dazzling technique swinging with Fats Navarro and Sonny Rollins on a few tracks, with the remainder simply Powell with bass and drums. One could say a thousand words about this rockin' jazz, but better just get it and hear for yourself. Also highly recommended on Chronological Classics is Sonny Stitt, 1946-50 (CC 1174) wherein Powell bopps hard with Stitt and Kenny Clarke or Max Roach. Totally excellent--you can't go wrong with these tracks!
