Customer Reviews:
"relive those days of spies, cops and secret agents".......2000-06-10
Thanks to Hip-O Records we can relive those days of spies, cops and secret agents, with the same excitement when they were originally on the tube and BIG SCREEN. This particular CD concentrates on music of the '60s ad '70s, written by some of the best during that period. To give you an example - composer Jerry Goldsmith with "THE MAN FROM U.N.C.L.E." and "THE INVADERS", plus "THEME FROM BARNABY JONES" - composer Quincy Jones with "IRONSIDE" - composer Lalo Schifrin with "BULLITT" (Main Theme), each composer gave us their individual best.
Although the entire CD is "state of the art" - here are some standouts - dynamic "jazzy" style of Mr. Quincy Jones on "IRONSIDE", the Ventures with "HAWAII FIVE-O" and "STREETS OF SAN FRANCISICO" are excellent tracks with that rockin' blast of tempo and beat. Remembering the times they were featured on the charts, radio and at your local swimming pools and beaches.
Listening to this album, was like taking a trip in a "Time Machine", certain tunes trigger memories of long ago. Many selections go back twenty-five years or more, and sound as fresh today as then. I highly recommend this album to anyone who is planing a party, BBQ or just hanging out with some friends, it's a "Real Blast From The Past"!
