I'm stunned at how good this CD is. Dodo Marmarosa, it turns out, is a really, really good bebop piano player. The CD has solo piano, trio work, small group, and orchestra work. Two of the cuts are Dodo playing with the Charlie Parker quintet and septet. The music is absolutely beautiful. It's lovely bebop that swings. The songs were recorded in the 1946 time frame. The sound quality is excellent. It's 72 minutes of great music that I highly recommend. There are 25 songs in all, each being about two and a half minutes in length. To me, there is a lot of bebop that is harsh and not much fun to listen to. However every song on this CD is lovely and a pleasure to listen to.
