5 out of 5 stars Great Fender Rhodes Based Soft Fusion..........2004-03-10

....a delicioso collection of Ramsey Lewis' 70s tracks, including several of the Maurice White/Larry Dunn/Charles Stepney Kalimba Productions like Tequila Mockingbird, Hot Dawgitt and That's the Way of The World. However, there's a coupla tracks Lewis and company did during this time that I thought could have found their way on here, such as the great remakes of War's Slipping Into Darkness and the Stylistic's People Make the World Go Round (which I recall being in heavy rotation on our radio stations here). There's also a extrapolation from the opera Carmen that gets the Fender Rhodes funky treatment that woulda done nicely here. All in all, however, if you are a jazz lover or if you are into raiding the crates for some grooving tracks, look up this collection. You will be well pleased.
