Customer Reviews:
New Orleans Jazz at its best.......2007-02-07
A stunning example of New Orleans Jazz in the style of George Lewis and Bunk Johnson. Superbly recorded. I've got more than 30 George Lewis CD's and they are now gathering dust at the bottom of the drawer. Buy both Volumes as they were recorded at the same session, possibly at Preservation Hall.
The front line consists of Kid Thomas, Jim Robinson, Sammy Rimmington and Captain John Handy. Sammy Penn is in fine form on the drums. There are no vocals.
