The ABQ is AOK.......2005-02-21

This is my second favorite Alden album after the Jazz Collective CD, also on Concord. All the compositions except one are by Buck Clayton: that one ("Dickie's Dream") along with "C Minor Swing" are the highlights of this consistently solid CD. Dan Barrett is a beautiful trombonist with great control, but everyone performs marvelously on this date. Highly recommended.

'Beautiful Yesteryear' track reminds me of Emily Remler.......2001-01-17

I've not heard this whole album, just the 'Beautiful Yesteryear' track on Spinner.com. I was struck by how much the song sounded like the late Emily Remler.
