5 out of 5 stars Great Jazz Ethnic Music mix.......2003-10-05

I enjoy both jazz and world music. This CD is a fusion of them both. Howard Levy's play is exceptional. His harmonica is tranformed into an incredibley expressive instrument that extends the known boundaries of harmonica even further than other Chrom harp players like John Popper of Blues Traveller. But the CD has a heavey folksy Macedonian influence which is not for everyone. I happen to love it.

I normally enjoy any thing Howard Levy does this CD however is the exception. Howard is one of the best harmonica players and keyboard artists around today (Bela Fleck and the Flecktones,The Stranger's Hand, Harmonica Jazz, New Directions for Harmonica, etc.). However to be honest I have had the CD for about two (2) years, I have listened to it twice, and it was painful both times, to me the music is just weird. If you like world music maybe you will like it, as for me, no thank you.
