Customer Reviews:

2 out of 5 stars An excellent guitarist performing weak material.......2006-02-25

Gil Parris can play, but this music is bland. Try Blue Thumb instead.

5 out of 5 stars I can't praise him enough!.......2002-05-21

This CD is a masterpiece. If you love smooth jazz guitar, then you must have this CD. Great for relaxation!!! Vocals on "Rainy Night In Georgia" are not to be missed either!

4 out of 5 stars What a Soul!.......2002-01-10

This guy has the soul of someone whose been playin the blues for 50 years. Can't wait for more...

4 out of 5 stars A showcase for a monster talent.......2002-01-04

Gil Parris presents a delightful assortment of music that truly
displays an awesome talent. His accompanyment here are musicians
of equal talent... the fact that they too, are established names
in jazz only serves to underscore how strong Gil's chops really
are.
His choice of tone and phrasing will delight a sensitive ear. I
particularly like the way he builds to a very satisfying finish,
even in a standard like "Rainy night in Georgia"!

4 out of 5 stars I liked this CD a lot!.......2001-11-08

This is a terrific CD that delivers variety, good songs (not a clunker in the bunch), musicianship, and -- for me anyway -- a sense of optimism. I definitely would not stigmatize this recording with a "light jazz" label. I like this CD a lot.
