This is a studio recording from 1975. Bill was in New Orleans playing at the Jazz and Heritage festival and the opportunity to record him with some fine younger musicians arose. The results are quite good.

This is George Masso's first recording and he shows his phenomenal taste and tone to good advantage. David Paquette's piano playing is recorded here for the first time as well. Noel Kalet plays soprano sax and clarinet, Bob Bequillard is on drums, and New Orleans mainstay Ed Garland is on the bass. Everyone sounds good and inspired. There are many fine moments from all the soloists and there are no areas that drag.

It's a good Wild Bill session that sits head and shoulders above much of what is offered as traditional jazz today. Get it...you'll see.
