Barney has an incredible way of taking a song and turning it into something lovely, or unexpected, or simply darn cool to hear. His own creations obviously come from his soul and heart. This is my favorite of all his albums, although I have and enjoy all of them. My favorite cut on this album is John Gray. Even before I read the liner notes, the song touched me in a deeply profound way. Knowing what why he wrote the song takes me to an even deeper place every single time I hear it.

Barney is the kind of jazz cat who doesn't have to prove himself by doing wild gyrations and beating on his chest. He has fun, he's got class, talent and passion all rolled up into one fine musician.
