Customer Reviews:

5 out of 5 stars WOW!.......2002-08-15

What an album! As a trumpet player myself, Morrison blows my socks off! I first heard his music when I saw the T.V. movie, "Billy's Holiday." Prior to that, I'd never heard of him (he's out of Sydney, Australia). Wanting to hear more of his music, I ordered this album (a 4 CD set). First CD, traditional jazz: the drive of Al Hirt...but far better. A good example, "Back Home in Indiana," and "When the Saints Go Marching In." Second CD, swing jazz. I think I hear a little bit of Doc Severinsen creeping in. Third CD, cool jazz. Fourth CD, bonus: a little bit of Dizzy Gillespie and Arturo Sandoval. Great command and brassy sounds in all registers, unblemished technique. You've got to hear this guy. Also great on trombone, saxaphone, piano, and bass. Now that's an all-around musician!
