He's Luscious! He's Lucien Barbarin.......2003-03-15

Having seen him perform on tour with Harry Connick Jr.'s Big Band, I have gained an appreciation of the tremendous talent of Lucien Barbarin. I have followed his career closely and this is the one CD that captures Lucien's talents as a showcase. I had the fortune of capturing the performance in person one Sunday in New Orleans at the Palm Court Caf? (1204 Decatur Street) and have seen the live version of this CD. What can I say? He's Luscious! And so is this CD!

This splendid collection of jazz tunes will send you to paradise, or New Orleans, that is. Mr. Lucien plays a mean trombone as well as sings on this album. Set in the beautiful Palm Court Jazz Cafe on Decatur Street in New Orleans, the album seamlessly presents one captivating tune after anutha. "Old Rockin' Chair" will make you weep, while "Bourbon Street Parade" will make you feet jump. Highly recommended if you're looking for the divine New Orleans sound. Other tracks included: Blues My Naughty Sweetie Gives to Me, Ain't She Sweet, Mama Inez, She Moved, Ballin' the Jack, When I Grow Too Old to Dream, Girl of My Dreams, I've Found a New Baby, Just Squeeze Me (But Don't Tease Me), and Just a Little While to Stay Here.
