5 out of 5 stars The BEST Of Two Legends!.......2002-07-30

There is no way to adequately describe the talent of Clark Terry.I've seen him play "call and answer" routines with himself, a muted trumpet in one hand and a flugelhorn in the other(Listen to him on "Cool Vibes"). I've also witnessed him playing the horn inverted using only the knuckles of his hand on the valves. The point is that his playing is brilliant, always happy, and fun. And let's not forget his "Mumbles" routine, the methods blues singer. Listen to him on "Whispering The Blues".

As for Al Grey, I've never heard a better trombone player using a plunger mute. Man, he could make that thing talk......and say anything. If you want to hear a clinic on the use of plunger mutes, listen to both of these gentlemen on "Greazy Blues".

No doubt about it, if you like jazz at all, this underrated and little known cd is for you! It's a collection of blues by two giants who know what it's all about!
