5 out of 5 stars A Great Way to Relax.......2002-06-29

All the promise hinted at in Samantha Siva's first effort, "Rythm of the Voices," is fullfilled in this wonderful and mature CD. Samantha's voice is fantastic and she has surrounded herself with some great talent in the adult contemporary and jazz fields. She has produced or co-produced every song. There is no doubt this is her album.

One of the highlights is "Living Alone." Richard Elliot plays a light and breezy tenor sax on this song about spending time by ourselves and enjoying life. Another is Chieli Minucci's beautiful guitar on "If I Never," a haunting song of quiet reflection on the people who come into our lives only briefly in a romantic way, but stay forever in our hearts.

David Benoit was brought on board and co-produced three tracks with Siva on this light jazz confection. "I Can't Stop" is a catchy and breezy song about falling in love which received some radio play on smooth jazz stations around the country, but like the beautiful "Angel" from her debut effort, should have gotten much more.

There is no mistake after listening to this intimate and personal CD that you are listening to something special, a great artist coming into her own. This is a worthy follow-up to "Rythm of the Voices" and is a pleasure to listen to. Songs like "Riding Horses" add a richness and balance to the overall feel of the album.

An artist originally from Sri Lanka, she has grown with each effort, and "Identity" will surprise those who have yet to hear her. If music were a banquet, Samantha Siva's "Identity" would be table crackers and good cheese, purple grapes and fine wine. This is a delicious way to unwind at the end of a long day.

5 out of 5 stars Just brilliant!.......2000-12-18

I have only just discovered Samantha Siva, and I have to say her music, her voice etc are just fanatastic. I have the new album 'Identity', and will buy the original soon 'Rhythm of the voices'. There is one song that has a Sade feel but overall her sound is more interesting and is more uptempo, jazzy and passionate. I could not make a comparison. Great variety. A welcome new artist. Recommended listenning for all.

5 out of 5 stars What a great talent!.......2000-11-24

I was surfing the net for new music by my favorite female vocalist when I stumbled upon Samantha Siva on Amazon. Once I heard a few song clips I WAS HOOKED. I'm getting both CD's to add to my collection, she is WONDERFUL! She is now in my regular playlist and I hope the radio stations here in Georgia will add her as well.

2 out of 5 stars She's okay but no Sade!.......2000-11-04

I was really expecting more from this performer. I bought the CD based on the reviews on this site. I was really disappointed. Samantha's voice seems a bit weak if you are expecting the fullness and maturity of Sades' voice. Over all I would say she is okay but doesn't have any "personality" in her singing voice. Save your money.... there are better artists out there.
