Customer Reviews:

5 out of 5 stars You should check this band out........2004-11-07

This is one of those little-known bands that deserves much wider recognition. (Formerly known as Lazy Boy, they were forced to change their name...) It's excellent instrumental music. Kind of reminds me of David Lynch films... deep and spooky. Lots of vibrato on the guitar, elements of rockabilly, surf, and jazz - but trying to label it doesn't do the music justice. Take my word for it and check it out.

5 out of 5 stars Pioneering.......2004-01-20

Musical scientists concocting potions in a sound lab. Pathos without bathos. Keep it up guys.

3 out of 5 stars Eenie Meenie is superb but some of this stuff is strange.......2000-07-23

I had to have Eenie Meenie after hearing it during a Fresh Air interview. It's a superb piece but some of the other stuff is strange and not to my taste. I hope Big Lazy does more in the Eenie Meenie style.

4 out of 5 stars Reverb + Stand-up Bass+Drums=Holy Cow!.......1999-12-27

I listened to Big Lazy five times straight through before it left my cd player. Reverb central on the beat up telecaster playing of Stephen Ulrich. The drums blend in perfectly with whatever mood they are shooting for. Also, The bass paying of Paul Dugan goes from smooth and jazzy to haunting when he uses a bow. This trio is a great break from any fan of jazz, surf guitar (ala ventures), and Hillbilly Rock. Some of the tracks can put a smile on your face, and others can scare the _____ out of you. They are truly an original.
