Customer Reviews:

3 out of 5 stars Doesn't Move Me.......2000-10-23

Pretty traditional date, certainly not reflective of Ra's more adventurous tendancies. Anticipates next year's "Blue Delight" to some extent.

5 out of 5 stars I happen to love this album and think its a great piece.......2000-08-07

I have over 35 or so Sun Ra records and have seen him and the Arkestra 8 or more times over the last 18 years. I would have to say, like some others, I find some of the very spacey recordings a bit inacessible. Fortunately, there is plenty left to love to the death. This one is more traditional and very beautiful with Sun Ra singing on I dream to much, which is cool. The other songs are recognizable and more structured, but in a GREAT Sun Ra sort of way. I really really like this one and is one of my favorite later recordings. All the songs are outstanding.

2 out of 5 stars Slow-pitch softball for the Arkestra.......2000-01-25

From the same sessions as _Hours After_. As every other title in the discography will attest, the man is capable of much more than this. Mr Ra takes a straight-ahead shot at mainstream material. Quite poor.
