Always the same - wondeful.......2007-03-08
Another great performance of Pat Metheny Group. Can you imagine Pat Metheny and Wes Montgomery performing together ?
The Road To You.......2006-12-13
This one is good, but three of the tracks, Have You Heard, Better Days Ahead and Last Train Home are already on the group's 1993 world tour release The Road To You. I have most of the groups discography, and this is one of the lesser releases, but is pretty good for Pat and Lyle fans (like myself) who really don't care as long as it's Pat and Lyle. Even with three of the tracks previously released, there are still six tracks not heard on other releases. Although not a "must have" unless you're a dyed in the wool fan, it's still a good listen.
The stated 1993 original release date doesn't appear on any of the groups listed discography's, which suggests to me that it isn't part of the "official" discography. Bootleg? I don't know. Do I care? Heck no.... it's more good Metheny Group, for cryin' out loud!
Great if you are a hardcore fan.......2006-11-01
This CD is actually a bootleg and has been called 'Blue Asphalt' in other areas, I believe. It is not an offical PMG release and ,honestly, I'm surprised that Amazon has it on their site. So the less then perfect sound quality is because it is a boot and, at best, was taken from the sound board and didn't receive any post production editing.
Another example of a Metheny boot is the CD of 'Parallel Realities'. That CD is nothing more then the soundtrack to the DVD with some bad editing. Tracks are left off of the CD that were on the DVD and most tunes are not faded in and out.
I wouldn't purchase these unless you are a hardcore fan that wants to hear some Metheny live and aren't too concerned about the aesthetics of the CD. Just an FYI, I got stung by the Parallel Realities CD, but after a little 'research' on it, I discovered there are ulterior ways to 'acquire' both these CDs.
Apparently it's from 1992.......2006-10-07
Recently received this disc, which I had never heard of before, despite being a big PMG fan. There are three pages of Japanese (perhaps Korean?) text in the liner notes. In English, there is the track list, personnel list (Pat Metheny, Lyle Mays, Steve Rodby, Paul Wertico, Armand Marcai, Pedro Aznar), and then it says "Recorded live, USA 1992" but does not say where in the USA. UPC code is 8 804795 011874. "(P) 2002 Kang & Music (C) 1993 by ITM-MEDIA". Audio quality is okay but not great.
What is this CD?.......2006-09-01
I'm very familiar with all of Pat's works, but I have never seen this CD. Is it real? It definitely wasn't released by any major label.
