This release by the classic quartet is among many great releases however its assesability perhaps, makes it the most clear for any listerner. Often highly innovative music can feel remote, like going to the High Church, The Joe Maneri Quartet in general however particularly on this recording invite you into the livingroom of their most personal ideas. For another one of their absolute best check out the Trio Recordings on the Leo lab label.

His microtonal style reminds one of both Jimmy Giuffre and Evan Parker but developing uniquely...A true find!!!
