Customer Reviews:
What??? Are they listening to the same CD I'm listening to?.......2005-01-20
There are a couple of really negative reviews here that blow my mind! It sounds almost as if the reviewers didn't listen to the recordings and just have some kind of weird axe to grind. Maybe frustrated musicians/singers? Who knows? If these are old charts as stated, it looks by the liner notes and photos that they were given to Tony Corbiscello personally by Marion Evans himself. I'll admit that Joe Francis sounds a little shakey on the Sinatra-esque "Don't Worry 'Bout Me" and "Saturday Night". But, he delivers an impressive treatment on "Half as Much" and "Gal in Calico". All in all for a first effort, I'm happy I've added it to my collection. There's no question this record swings.

Old charts, Joe Francis does imitations of Frank Sinatra, but he has a great deal of difficulty staying on key!!!
GREAT ALBUM...!!.......2001-07-14
What can you say about Tony that hasn't already been said. Great music and great musicians...Worth getting.
Average at best.......2001-06-05
Contrary to the previous 2 reviews which read almost like album liner notes, there is very little to recommend this CD. The arrangements have little or no innovation and the musicians, while mostly competent, lack drive and generate no excitement. In some instances, the solists are so weak that they can barely be heard and in 2 cases, they miss the pitch badly. As someone who has been a big band fan for years and a musician as well, there are many big bands and swing bands out there who will give you a much bigger bang (and band!) for your buck.
Classic Full and Satisfying Swing.......2000-08-19
A friend of mine told me that there was this amazing swing band, a big band in the classic style. I was lucky enough to hear The Tony Corbiscello Big Band in person in New York City this summer. Then I immediately bought the CD. One listen and I knew they were fabulous. The sound is big, tight, professional, and definitely swinging. The music is so listenable and you will surely be tapping your feet in time with the rhythm. The music is also great for dancers, especially swing dancers. Tony's music is "friendly," inviting, and lots of fun. Anyone who has heard it can't believe how great the sound is. If you get the CD, you will not be disappointed.
