Customer Reviews:

5 out of 5 stars Wonderful Jazz.......2005-05-11

Steve Grossman is a massively undervalued saxophonist and musician. I had the pleasure of seeing him live with trumpeter Damon Brown which is fantastic, his playing is so individual and I love his rich, full, earthy tone that is so powerful. This CD was my first encounter with pianist Michel Petrucciani and I am so impressed by his playing, his right hand sings! The original compositions are also excellent as well. Wonderful Jazz!

5 out of 5 stars Stunning performance and sonics!.......2005-02-20

This is some of the most beautiful music I've heard in a long time. Steve Grossman and Michel Petrucciani compliment each other beautifully on this ten song set. Neither one grandstands, yet each has a large role to play. Absolutely gorgeous piano tone captured here by Petrucciani, one of the best there ever was, period.

5 out of 5 stars Another masterpiece in the language called bebop.......2004-05-01

As I enter my senior years, and as a lifelong devotee of the jazz art called bebop, created by Charlie Parker, and Dizzy Gillespie, I am ashamed to say this is my first exposure to these two great artists. Where have I been?
I got this CD on the way home, slid it into my player, and almost immediately started yelling, "Yes", "That's it", "Play it Steve", "Do it Michel", because they were talking to me. I knew exactly what they were saying. The runs, and melodies derived from the chords of the songs were so true, and unphoney, that I could only yell with joy. I assure you folks, I do this with few recordings.
These two guys sound like they grew up in the black projects in Detroit, Chicago, or NY, in the late forties when bop had it's gestation period, and they're not even black, but you could have sure fooled me. Do not, repeat, do not miss the genius of these two remarkable artists.

5 out of 5 stars Too bad there won't be another...............................2002-12-10

because this was Michel Petrucciani's last album. To hear him with one of the great Saxophonists is a real joy. Steve Grossman
and Michel Petrucciani create something really special here.
Jazz at its best.

5 out of 5 stars One Great Find.......2001-03-24

This is one of the most enjoyable CD's I've bought in recent months and I buy at least 1 a week. Every track is good, no space fillers in this CD. Go buy it and enjoy
