5 out of 5 stars STUNNING !.......2003-02-01

An impressive first album. Benjie Porecki shines on piano and organ and Alex Schultz guitar solos are excellent. The group plays a mixture of jazz and soul/blues. My favorite tracks are Servin' it up (a grooving opener), a very jazzy rendition of "Beautiful love" (with great piano), a soulful "Baptism". The last four tracks are superb: "Sunny" is one of the best versions I ever heard of this great song. Porecki swings hard at the organ on Stevie Wonder's "Boogie on reggae woman", played as a shuffle-blues. "Bridge over troubled water" is played slowly and soulfully and Schultz is brilliant again. "5 a.m. in the night is a gem, the most unexpected song. It's a trio thing with Porecki playing bluesy piano at a slow tempo.

Fans of funky B-3 will love this CD, album or whatever it is called these days. Porecki is a madman on organ and piano. Alex Schultz is a tasty guitarist. Together they make a superb duo. The bottom is rock solid. Buy it - you won't be disappointed.

5 out of 5 stars For B-3 lovers, a must........1999-03-04

I heard an awesome Hammond B-3 Organ player in a song on a local jazz radio station. I didn't catch the artist, so I emailed the station, who said it may have been Benji Porecki, who I never heard of. I searched the net, found a site with a sample, and sure enough, found the same song. I then went to Amazon, where of course, I found it, and then ordered it. The CD is excellent, and B-3 lovers will wear it out. It has a good diversity of songs, some really rocking and some, using piano, that are really mellow. Benji really mixes it up, and shows a lot of energy as well as humor and other emotions. I am now a Benji Porecki fan. Buy this one.
