Customer Reviews:

5 out of 5 stars another fine Micus album.......2000-08-13

This is not my favorite Micus album, but then again, there's a lot to compete with. Still, it possibly has more variety than any of his others, and there are some sequences that are breath-taking (and thankfully, go on and on!). For those who do not know Micus's music, this is a good introduction. It shows how adroit he is compositionally within the framework of improvisation and multi-tracking he has set out for himself, and offers the listener a good sampling of the sounds of the many unusual instruments he has mastered.

5 out of 5 stars It is played by INHALEING.......1999-03-04

The instrument pictured on the album cover is a Ni um Ni - a hollow reed that is played by INHALING (Clinton probably couldn't play this instrument). The tone is changed by differing the lip pressure. The music is typical Micus reed and flute instruments - and when the Ni um Ni comes in it calls the soul to attention much like Buddhist reed and trumpet blasts do. The sound is simply amazing. And, again, as with all Micus albums except The Music of Stones, he plays all instruments. Next to To The Evening Child, I find this album one of the most tranquil and serene.
