Reynold continues to please.......2003-02-24

Themes For Imaginary Movies is a wonderfully eclectic yet very approachable release from Reynold Phillipsek. Reynold creates music that defies categorization, almost thumbing his nose at it, and it is that attitude that frees him to create music that provides a range that spans jazz to pop. Influences from Wes Montgomery and George Harrison start Reynold on his wonderful tour of movies that is nostalgic without being old fashioned. And while Reynold could never be accused of creating simple music, it is not arrogant or distant. Quite the opposite, Reynold's music is intimate and feels very much as if you are listening to him in a small club.

Minnesota artist Reynold Philipsek has released another gem of musical imagination. "Themes For Imaginary Movies" is an eclectic collection of musical jewels that expresses theatrical ideas that exist only in our minds. Ideas born of Reynold's fertile mind far before the actors have been hired or the sets constructed. It is a format that allows the listener full license to "create" plots and scenes on their own.
