Eddie M.'s best yet. The former saxophonist with Prince (Around the World in A Day), Sheila E. (Romance 1600), and Shalamar has produced yet another masterful blend of sounds: from searing, funk-inflected numbers, to jazz pieces that showcase his chops like a butcher at a carnivore convention, to the achingly beautiful soulful ballads that glisten over this disc like sweat on a stripper.
Just try to listen to the hot new single "Girl To A Woman" and not be moved and grooved; or dial up "Zipcode" and see what happens to your eardrums after Mr. M. gets through with them. Or see "Prince.org" to get your world rocked.
It's Minneapolis meets Kansas City meets Stockholm folks, and I think the Chambers of Commerce of any of these fine cities would be proud to blare this cd from the rooftops of their respective town halls.
