5 out of 5 stars revelations of bliss.......2004-07-10

This is another outstanding nicky skopelitis release. Featuring Bill Laswell on sound desighn and not credited, dub bass on the last song right as rain, Bill Buchen on tablas water drums, talking drums exc, no actual drum set or electronic set. Nicky, guitar, coral elecric sitar, and its spelled baglama not (balama), Bowed guitar, and raoul bjorkheim on pretty much the acominment to nicky. This is a bit different for a nicky skopelitis release, instead of the usual jah wobble/ bill laswell dub eastern fushion style it features that of him and raoul in a more full sound scape format, still very eastern, jam style. The songs are very ambient but are fully filled with bill buchen drums very structured thought not disseray ambience. If your not familiar with raoul and would like to hear him ive tried to find a solo release by him but no luck, he is featured on the paul schutze phantom city releaseds shiva recoil live unlive, site anubis, new maps of hell, awesome stuff laswell is also on all three, if youve ever heard projekcts king crimsons side project very similar. Ive also only heard of bill buchen from laswells releases he is spread throught. And if you dont know who laswell is then their is no hope for you.

5 out of 5 stars Didn't know quite to expect from this one...........2003-03-11

...but once I popped it in the player I realized that I was going to take a ambient journey. I've recently become a Bill Laswell fan through a buddy who had a cd (funkcronomicon) and a few listens of that cd I was hooked! Revelator is the type of cd you have playing and the music paints a picture of the world you've never been. Good mood music and will definately set things off! many instruments involved in this piece which includes: Electric, Acoustic, Balama, Bowed Guitars. Along with tablas, water drum, log drum and other percussion. Nicky, Raoul, Bill Laswell and bill Buchen hit a home run on this one! BUY IT NOW!
