You Will Smile.......2006-08-06

Just like Paulinho on the cover; you'll smile when you hear this! How did they squeeze so MANY good feelings into one record album?? Amazingly, Paulinho doesn't have any flatulent percussion breaks. He's in there, egging everyone else on. He'll slip something subtle in there, letting you know why he's in such demand. But whatever he did to get this cast together and these tunes and this vibe, they should have had him producing albums! Yes, "Deja Vu" is Phillip Bailey with a EW&F feel and whatever I might try to detail here will only be capsized by the waves of joy this music will bring.

I agree with the previous review. Dreamflow is my favorite cut on this disk. I also wanted to point out that Paulinho DaCosta was a frequent session musician for many Earth Wind & Fire albums. He was also a session musician for many of the groups EWF produced. For all you Phillip Bailey (EWF) fans, the song "De Ja Vu" features vocals by the man himself. Just those 2 cuts alone make it worthy of adding to any serious collector's vault of music.

Paulinho's name appears in hundreds and hundreds of albums of all kinds and with a huge reason, his skills and performances are requested everywhere. Regardless of his tight schedule, he's also managed himself to record about four albums of his own; this one is absolutely fantastic, with Disco and Brazilian Jazz flavors. The best cuts are: Dreamflow, Carnival of Colors and Happy People.
