5 out of 5 stars Finally.......2005-10-15

Over the last 15 years, Christian music has become so "Cotton Candy." It looks like a lot, but when you bite into it, there is very little there. Rhonda McCoy sings songs that have substance, and she does it with anointing. She also employs a style of music that has been passed over in the realm of Christian Music, JAZZ! Finally, a Christian jazz singer! I whole-heartedly recommend Rhonda McCoy for your listening joy!

5 out of 5 stars McCoy's debut a winner.......2004-08-06

Rhonda McCoy's debut album serves notice that she is the Diana Krall of Christian music. This recording is somewhat eclectic, featuring several styles and covering several previously recorded tunes, showing Rhonda's versatility. My personal favorites include the slow-jazz numbers "Always Have Jesus" "The Love of God" and "You Gave My Heart the Chance." You'll love the classic "Smile" Never over-produced or orchestrated, this recording harkens back to the days when music had MELODY instead of the same three notes barked out over a repetitive I-IV-V progression. One can only hope that this annointed lady will come back with an album completely dedicated to the oft-overlooked genre of "classic slow jazz."

5 out of 5 stars annointed.......2004-04-07

This album's title track has touched my life in an incredible way. When things get so ruff you want to give up, this song reminds us of who we need to turn to and that He's waiting there for us to enter into His presence. Her voice is dynamic and she has such an annointing when she sings. I can imagine the angels around her tuning in as she sings and more improtantly, I believe the Lord sits on His throne and smiles as He hears her using the talent He has given her for His glory. Listening to this album makes me enter into a praiseful and worshipful time with the Lord. I reccomend it strongly.
Hear it worship with it and be blessed.
