A Musical Diamond.......2006-12-31
Hearing is believeing. Luisa and Infinite Love are something special. Wonderful. One of the best Brazilian albums you will ever hear.
Infinitely beautiful CD..........2003-09-21
This CD found me - a friend of mine discarded it, giving it to me because, "I know you like that New Age Matheny type of stuff". Can you beat that!? This is Brazilian music in some of its finest permutation. Lubambo and Goldstein's version of "My Foolish Heart" opens the recording and is absolutely captivating. (OK...it might sound a bit like Matheny with Pedro Aznar) and takes second place after Bill Evans' version as my all time favorite. The second tune is gorgeous, and although I sometimes questioned the segues between tracks, the entire CD is an etherial Brazilian ride with Goldstein's accordion work now and then adding wonderful dimension. The voices are Maucha Adnet and Toninho Horta, who also plays guitar. Lubambo is incredible.
Gorgeous, adventurous Brazilian/jazz hybrid.......1999-01-24
This CD MUST be purchased. You will love it. Goldstein has played with Pat Martino, Pat Metheny, Billy Cobham, Jaco Pastorius, etc. He is a brilliant composer/arranger/player. Here the focus is Brazilian. He plays a lot of accordian in the company of Lubambo's nylon string guitar. It transports you to a place of beauty, joy, and mystery. Check this out!!!
