Customer Reviews:

4 out of 5 stars 4 and 1/2 stars.......2006-08-09

This 2CD set is recorded live on Oct. 15, 1989 at Koln. KJ does groan a bit too much in maybe 2,3 of the songs, but it's not particularly bad comparing to his other albums. This is a beautiful album and for some reason, it seems to me that Jack DeJohnette's drum is particularly hot and sweet that day. I also love the ending "U Dance" very much, really groovy. My only complain is, the audience applause in "All the things you are" (around 2 min into the play) sounds a little weird. It's like it's added in later (?)

5 out of 5 stars Thanks.......2003-03-16

Hey I wanted to thank the editor for including "Tribute" among the essential Keith Jarrett CDs and for the hearty recommendations from the rest of the contributors. It's beautiful. I especially enjoy "U Dance". Thanks for helping me add this to my collection!

4 out of 5 stars Oververbalizations.......2001-07-18

I rate this double album 4 stars only because it has the greatest amount of Keith's moaning and groaning. And it really bothers me. Other than that, this is one of the best sets of the prodigious trio.

5 out of 5 stars Classic Jarrett -- great standards, great non-standards........1999-05-13

From standards such as "All the Things You Are" through the strangely moving "Ballad of the Sad Young Men" to the joyous "U Dance," this is the best jazz CD Jarrett has released, for my money.
