Customer Reviews:
Rosly Kind - Fabulous Vocalist.......2007-03-15
Barbra Streisand has a half sister - Roslyn Kind. She has a fabulous voice. I can't understand why she is not a huge star unless she doesn't want to be. 'Come What May' her album that I recently purchased is beautiful. People in Florida are so lucky as she is appearing at the Kravis Centre on the 14th April of this year. She has already sold out 3 concerts this year. I just wish that I could make the one I just mentioned but that too will probably have sold out by now. Listen to Roslyn and I defy you not to be impressed and moved by the standard of vocal she produces.
TWO SISTERS????.......2007-01-12
Brilliant move - just the voice and a piano ........
Why are the two girls [Ms. B and Ms. R] not on the road or doing a rather immortal [good title!] Tv special ~ good god - can you imagine the ratings??????
Ms. Roslyn move into the light!
Another rare find along the lines of "Diva" ...
Brilliant!!!
A beautiful lady inside and out...........2006-10-31
I had the opportunity to hear Ms. Kind perform live in West Hollywood on October 21, 2006 and I was so taken by her stage presence, her love of the audience (and their love of her) and her vocal prowess. I bought the CD after the show and have been playing it daily since ("Perfect" and "Come What May" are among my favorites). The arrangements are just her and a pianist, as though you were sitting next to her in a piano bar, or better yet, curled up on your living sofa with a cocktail in one hand. Until her next CD (which I understand may come out in 2007) at least I can hear her marvelous, golden voice whenever I want -- but luckily I heard it live and that, my friends, is a real treat.
Lackluster performances.......2006-10-20
Roslyn has a nice voice but she does not have the innate ability to make a song her own like her older sibling does. What she does do is make all the songs sound the same. Her crisp diction and breathy vocals work for her sometimes, but on "You've Changed" she's way out of her league.
Sorry Roslyn, but you can do better than this!
In the Shadow of a Giant.......2005-08-27
Having been a fan of Barbra Streisand for over forty years, I was curious to know how her half-sister, Roslyn Kind, measured up in the vocal stakes. I am pleased to report that Roslyn has a superb voice & vocal style and does not suffer in comparison with her more-famous sibling.
The great frustration is that this genuine talent is being under-sold by the cheap production on this album. She deserves better than to have her songs backed by the accompaniment of a single piano and I am sure that an investment in full orchestral backing would have improved the experience.
