Customer Reviews:

5 out of 5 stars Why did you wait so long to sing, Rachel ?.......2005-11-11

After having all of Rachel's cd's, this may be the best till now.
Fantastic voice, excellent piano playing, perfect recording quality. A cd for latenite listening. I think Rachel is growing with each cd she records. What are we all lucky for the future...

4 out of 5 stars Amazing Grace!!!!!!!!!!!.......2005-10-25

Surprise! Surprise! It took me a while to warm up to this album, especially coming in on the heels of Z's "Everlasting", but once I figured out that you have to turn it up really, really loud to hear her singing, I realized that it's an outstanding album. The music is pulse pounding, complete with a vibration that you just don't hear too often (no doubt due to the awesomely authentic recording from the Cheskys.) And that voice....oh so clever and it may be the best voice since Sade. If you really listen closely, you'll hear Rachel doing a lot of improvising with her voice and singing in different ranges. In fact, the whole album is something...different. And even the familiar songs come out in a different light. But the songs with the singing in them take the cake. My favorites are "Protect this child", "Pain" and "Grace."
In fact, I can't get enough of "Grace" as it caught my attention immediately and now I have to listen to it at least three times in a row every time. It's going to be the "Song of the Year" from my perspective. Now, of course, I'm one of Z's biggest fans, so you can take this review with a grain of salt, but I feel that it was a surprising album. Just remember to play it loud so that you can hear everything and that it may take a while for it to grow on you.
