Customer Reviews:

5 out of 5 stars Signature Shearing and all smooth.......2006-11-20

10 familiar favorites in the Signature Shearing Quintet style with Strings adding another dimension. About 50-50 between slow and moderate tempo pieces that make you want to close your eyes, lay back and just enjoy. Song #5, Laura takes a while to recognize, but is enjoyable after it gets going. An excellent choice, and definitly more enjoyable than some other Shearing "Albums" I bought close to the same time.

3 out of 5 stars A listener of Jazz.......2000-02-17

This is a fine cd, but its a little too commercial. I like the old quintet recordings...the strings add that extra element of relaxation, not the same fire that the quintet owned, with Shearing's lock-handed solos. Not a bad cd, just not as fitting to my taste.

5 out of 5 stars Classic Shearing....absolutely wonderful !.......1999-07-19

This is classic George Shearing. Beautiful old songs, played as smooth and lovingly as moonlight shining through the wine....
