Customer Reviews:

5 out of 5 stars THE VERY BEST EVER.......2005-05-30

This is a master class in vocals for ANY singer....be taken to Brazil like no one else could ever take you...the voice is glorious as is the music. The arrangements are lush and full... one of those very few albums that will never date and you will never get tired off....music made from heaven...may god bless you Sarah simply THE DIVINE ONE...

5 out of 5 stars One more in the 3-set Sarah Vaughan's Brazilian collection.......2004-11-22

This third album of Brazilian songs by Ms. Vaughan was her first to be recorded in the USA and team is quite different than in the former albums.

Production was by Sergio Mendes and arrangements were by Dori Caymmi, the great Brazilian arranger, composer, guitarrist and singer. He's one of the best arrangers for vocal albums in Brazil.

Here you'll find a lush set with strings and extremely good taste along with Ms. Vaughan's master command.

Repertoire is all Brazilian material, featuring Sergio Mendes' big hit 'So Many Stars' with lyrics by Alan & Marilyn Bergman plus a beautiful and intricate song titled 'Wanting More' by the great Brazilian composer Fernando Leporace.

A must-have album!

5 out of 5 stars Sarah's last gift!.......2004-08-13

This is such a wonderful cd! the arrangements are great with that brazilian twist, and the amazing voice of Vaughan! this was Sassy last cd and what a great gift she left for us!

'So Many Stars' is so beautiful!

5 out of 5 stars "Do Yourself A Favor...".......2004-03-19

I remember the first time that I heard this cd. Wow! So lush, so alive, so dense with life. The arrangements so excited me that it took a few listenings to really "hear" Sarah. Now that could be interpreted as not being complimentary, but in this instance, it is. Then I really started to "hear" Sarah...<smile>. Has there ever really been a better overall singer? The air is thin, and the people are few at this altitude. Do yourself a favor, and get this and "I Love Brazil." After living with these for awhile, you too will be enveloped in a "Brazilian Romance."
