Customer Reviews:
David Sanborn at his absolute best.......2006-09-09
I've been listening to David Sanborn since the late 70s, and I'm a huge fan of his. I have lots of his albums, but this is the one I keep coming back to. It is truely Sanborn at his best. It showcases his range of styles, from the title track, to Creeper, to The Seduction. I miss listening to this one on vinyl, because The Seduction is the last track on that side, and it gives you a chance to just soak up the memory of the song in silence after it's over - followed by "I gotta hear that again". The whole album is filled with the signature Sanborn style that has made him the super-star he is. If you've never listened to David Sanborn before (and you have, whether you know it or not), this is the album to start your collection with.
Pure and Funky Sanborn.......2005-02-01
Highly recommended if u want to hear some more Sanborn in your neighborhood. I definitely appreciate it you won't be disappointed! This is a high standard 4 Sanborn. It incls. the love song "The Seduction" from the movie "American Gigolo" (which I seen twice but I have the soundtrack to it). David Sanborn should have won a Grammy 4 this one if he created this album.
A Masterpiece!!!.......2004-11-08
This was the one of David's early albums and I believe one of(IF NOT THE BEST)ones he made.He has made many great albums since then but this still remains one of his strongest. If you want to go back start with this one.
Maybe the best ever Sanborn album!.......2002-10-16
I remember when I first heard this album back in 1980. It was at a college party and I was struck immediately by the tone and style of this incredible saxophonist. From the opening notes of the first cut "Hideaway" I was hooked. Sanborn plays three horns in this song and it is smokin' ! I sat by a speaker and listened to every note. It was the beginning of my introduction to Contemporary Jazz and a whole new world of music for me. Not since King Curtis have I heard such an expressive sax. You can feel the emotion in every song. This is the album to buy if you want to hear Sanborn at his best. I also recommend Voyeur and Straight to the Heart.
typical sanborn. if one can call david typical.......1998-12-10
smooth sounds when needed and david can give a person great driving music for the straight away and for the evening smooth groove. i like it. but then again i've been listening to sanborn for along time.
