Customer Reviews:

5 out of 5 stars A FACE TO FACE POINT OF VIEW........2002-08-16

This is my favorite jazz CD, I play it almost everyday. Every song is the bomb. The songs have meaning, and are sung by talented voices. His music has so much rhythm, that you would think it's a regular R&B CD. For those of you who are not into jazz music, this CD will convert you; I'll guarantee it.

5 out of 5 stars In your face and heart to stay!.......2002-08-03

"Face to Face" puts you in the face of true love... with yourself, your Savior, and your soulmate!

This is a wonderfully flavorful CD, mixing jazz with R&B. I love the smooth jazz tunes and soulful lyrics. As you listen to the smooth sounds of "Brand New" and others, you will be swept away by the confessions of love in "When I Opened Up My Eyes" and "Face to Face". The music creates an atmosphere that will make you wrap your arms around yourself because true love begins within!

Tisdale reveals more love in this project, and you'll love listening to it!

4 out of 5 stars STRONG MOVE TO THE POST!.......2002-06-28

Let's face it, Wayman Tisdale was not the greatest power forward in the NBA and only a handful of NBA fan's outside of the Sacramento area probably even remember him. Therefore, unlike Shaq who sells worthless CD's on his name recognition alone, Wayman has had to prove his worth to music fans all over the world. On "Face to Face" Tisdale proves his worth by writing 6 of the 10 songs on the CD in addition to playing some very nice smooth Jazz on his bass. One thing Tisdale has obviously learned as a player is that any modicum of success depends in large part on the team you are playing with. With that understanding, Tisdale has surrounded himself with many fine, talented players. This winning team has helped Tisdale produce a championship quality CD.

5 out of 5 stars It's soooo nice.........2002-06-17

I'm a very picky and fickle music lover but this had to be in my collection no doubt! My only problem is that it's too short. Undoubtedly leaves you wanting more.

5 out of 5 stars Who would have thought.......2002-02-07

Who would have thought that the Bass could be sucha terrific lead instrument. Waymon has taken the art to a whole new level. Despite the obvious criticism of the use of such an instrument for the melodic lead, He has done a tremendous job of keeping the groove and not getting in the way of it.
This ablum has kept his trend of grooves that are in the pocket and creative melodic improvisation. He invited one of my all time favorite groups, Out of Eden, to sing on " When I Opened Up My Eyes". The addition of their voices to the already mesmorizing beat made this song, in my opinion, the best song on the album. However, the other contributions are remarkable as well. Songs like " If I Ever" and "Brazilia" will make this album a must have for R&B and Jazz fans alike.
