Customer Reviews:

5 out of 5 stars GEORGE OWES A HUGE DEBT OF GRATITUDE TO QUINCY JONES FOR THIS ONE..........2007-01-24

... because this is undisputably GB's best studio effort ever - a terrific listen from start to finish, right up there with "Silk Degrees" by Boz Scaggs. Highly recommended.

PS: Hey, Warner Brothers! When are you guys going to have this recording remastered? While you're at it, let's remaster all of George's recordings 1976-1986 for WB.

5 out of 5 stars THIS ALBUM IS A TIMELESS CLASSIC !!!!!!!!!!.......2006-10-19

ONE REVIEWER STATED LEE RITENUOR BASICALLY MADE THIS ALBUM WHAT IT WAS,HUH, WHO EVER YOU ARE THIS IS ONE OF MANY OF Q.JONES MASTERFULL PROJECTS AND WITH GEORGE BENSON DOING HIS THANG HOW IN THE WORLD COULD SOMEONE PICKOUT LEE RITENOUR ON THIS ALBUM AND SAY THAT HE IS THE MAN. Q.JONES AND GEORGE BENSON ARE LIVING MASTERS OF THEIR CRAFT, WHILE LEE IS GOOD,BUT HE PATTERNED HIS SELF AFTER THE LATE GREAT WES MONGOMARY'S STYLE ALSO HE WAS SO CAUGHT UP HE NAMED HIS SON WES. I WAS BORN IN THE ERA WHEN IF YOU DIDNT HAVE YOUR OWN VOICE AND STYLE YOU WOULDNT MAKE IT. I ALWAYS THOUHT THAT YOU LEARN FROM THE MASTERS NOT IMATATE THEM. ANYWAY I HAVE THIS ON WAX(LP-ALBUM) AND IT IS AN AUDIOPHILE TYPE RECORDING,AND THE MUSIC IS TIMELESS AND HOLDS IT OWN AGAINST TODAYS MUSIC.IF YOU WERE A TEENAGER OR AN ADULT WHEN THIS ALBUM WAS RELEASED YOU SHOULD KNOW EXACTLY WHERE I AM COMING FROM.

5 out of 5 stars Lee's Greatest Backing Works!!.......2006-09-24

Quincy thanks specially for Lee Ritenour in inner sleeve.
I think his works in this album is great as both a guitar player and a additional arranger, too.
He plays incredibly cool backing in "Midnight Love Affiar" and "Give me The Night".
And he plays the acorstic guitar lyrically in "Love Dance".
I think "give Me The Night" is Lee"s best studio work.

4 out of 5 stars Not as funny as before.......2006-04-18

This album was a lot funnier when I thought the song was called "GIVE ME THE KNIFE".

5 out of 5 stars Surely, I'll turn off my lamplight!.......2006-03-08

I have the vynil version of this masterpiece since 1980 and the only reason why I want to get the CD version is because my favorite TURN OFF THE LAMPLIGHT is scratchy. This tune invites you to make love in a quiet way, no hurries, why?...Since my ears heard the intro on this cut more than a quarter century ago, it was like Mr. Benson telling me "I've got a song for you to share with your beloved one". Well I could tell you, folks, more on my feeling on this one, but it's enough. The only thing I hate on this album is the title song, the worst one, the 45 , crap-disco sound that disrespect the rest of the content. A must not only for smooth jazz fans. Raýl Saavedra
