5 out of 5 stars A Wonderful REDISCOVERY.......2007-01-01

What a wonderful surprise discovering that there was a follow-up to "Twin Sons Of Different Mothers" after all! I must have blinked back in September of 1995 when it was originally released. I was a big fan of Weisberg back in college, collecting everything he did up to "Nightrider". Alas all my LPs are now long gone.

This collection of tunes is what I remember of Weisberg -upbeat, jazzy, with a touch of magic. Hearing Weisberg's flute sounds take me back to the three Weisberg concerts I attended at Washington State University.

All the tracks are well produced, gimmick free, and sound quite fresh for being eleven years old. Weisberg and Fogelberg were never producer pawns, each in possession of their own unique styles and sounds. Their sound is mellower than on "Twin Sons", but they had both mellowed with age in the seventeen years that passed between collaborations.

Discovering that two of the finest talents of the seventies finally got back together in the nineties was quite the thrill. I'd give this ten stars if they were available to give.

3 out of 5 stars Help! I'm stuck in the 1970s!.......2005-12-30

Other than having shorn their previously-shaggy locks and beards, Dan and Tim appear and sound to have been freeze-dried since approximately 1978, reconstituted specifically to give us this continuation-- not a sequel-- of their mellow classic, "Twin Sons." Not that there's a lot to *really* complain about: Tim's playing is as classy as ever, and Dan, while showing some signs of wear and tear vocally, is nonetheless in fine form instrumentally and compositionally. What relegates this album to mediocrity is that it doesn't break any new ground, take their collaboration in any new direction, or even acknowledge all of the different music released over the past couple of decades. Jeez, even the cover versions are taken from '60s songs (Jesse Colin Young's "Sunlight"). There's nothing remotely comparable to "The Power Of Gold" or "Tell Me To My Face" in terms of energy and intensity.
Best to save this one for chillin' out in your Colorado hot-tub with brie and Chardonnay; just don't try to drive anywhere afterwards.

1 out of 5 stars It's just not Dan like I know him...........2005-10-27

I started listening to this CD and had to make sure that I had the right one in the player. Really. This whole CD is awful. None of the songs have the great voice of Dan. It's all just background noise.

5 out of 5 stars No Resemblance Whatsoever.......2005-09-15

I was thrilled to find this CD and Orbitused was of great help. The music is great, the CD condition was as promised and the delivery was in time for this to be a wonderfully appreciated gift.
