Customer Reviews:
Definitely One Of His Best Efforts!!!.......2006-04-09
Over the years I have listened to a lot of Paul Hardcastle's music. This is definitely one of his best efforts!!! His electronic music has evolved into a more sophisticated genre, and not just an electronica, dance-beat sound. The opening track Rainforest jumps at you as it starts out this CD! Clearly, it is one of the best tracks on this disk. Runnin' Back features the lovely voice of Helen Rogers, who is heard exclusively on several songs on this disk. Golden Gate is a nice song, but a bit repetitive. Sunshine is my favorite vocal track on this disk. It is dreamy, and beautiful!!! It may be one of the best songs that they have ever done!!! Ride The D Train is an up tempo song featuring flutes and horns. Again, this is another good song. Walkin is another vocal tune that is catchy and nice to listen to. Zen Warrior has a world-beat sound to it. It's an okay song, but not one of my favorites. Desire is another really good song, this one receives quite a bit of airplay on smooth jazz radio stations. The Smokin Gun is a decent song with a good beat and some interesting phrasing. First Light is another world-beat style song. It's okay song and kind of reminds me of something that the band Deep Forest would do. I believe In You features some nice acoustic guitar work and the charming vocals of Helen once again. Superb! Forest Echoes is a reprise of the opening song...Rainforest. Maxine is the last cut on this CD. It features some nice sax and piano playing. It's an upbeat song and a fitting ending to a wonderful disk!!!
More Of The Better Smooth Jazz.......2005-11-17
Hardcastle 3 is one of those CD's you can put on and play all the way through! Paul continues to deliver some of the best smooth jazz out there! A great reworking of 'Rainforest'(one of the greatest instrumental songs ever!), and again some great vocals by Helen Rogers.
hardcastle III.......2005-08-02
i received it in the time specified and the product was in good shape as advertised.
A truly stunning masterpiece!.......2005-03-03
The third part of the "Hardcastle" series is a stunning return for Hardcastle in his first solo release in six years. In a way, H3 is more of a return to the beautiful New Age groove of his 1994 Hardcastle I album from eight years before. This is almost as great as the former with beautiful instrumentals like "Desire", "The Smoking Gun" and "Zen Warrior". The real treat here is an updated version of "Rain Forest" with a more modern twist on the 1984 classic which has a vastly different sound yet retaining the punch of the original. It's an absolute treat to hear this son on a much different light. This is a must-have album for everyone!
Paul Hardcastle - king of cheese.......2004-10-20
Wow this is easily some of the worst "smooth jazz" cheese I have ever heard. True jazz folks must be rolling in their graves.
