Customer Reviews:
One Quiet Night Not So Quiet.......2007-01-11
I heard a cut from this CD on XMRadio and loved it. Unfortunately, the CD, when played at home, was filled with squeaky, squacky sounds, drawing attention away from the beautiful songs.
nice 'n mellow.......2006-12-29
Pat always amazes me with how versatile he is. this is a great, mellow album with his usual perfect musicianship.
Not typical Metheny, but very listenable.......2006-07-03
I was surprised at how many positive reviews this CD has received. I like anything Pat does, no matter what style or genre. But this CD is quite a departure. It has a very pleasant, comforting "background music" quality. I know, probably not what Pat what shooting for, but I like it nevertheless.
An artist at its musical summit.......2006-06-27
Music is, as an art, the expression of an artist translating her or his feelings within media of expression. I think that Pat has found his depth of reflection in timeless synthesized compositions. OK, it does not fit within some expectations or thinking mold but art has no border, no cast form, no inflexible theme or beat. Art is an expression of an artist and Pat Methany is as real of an artist as it can be; no fluff or bluff. More I listen to this cd more I appreciate these beautiful compositions.
From "New Chautauqua" to "One Quiet Night".......2006-01-13
I started to listen Pat on the wonderful "New Chautauqua" album, and I have been always his fan ever since, even though I never got another album like my first album; not that I dislike albums like "I Can See Your House from Here" with John Scofield nor "Still Life (Talking)", but I prefer solo accoustic guitar like albums. Then I heard "One Quiet Night", exactly the peaceful and mindful guitar album I was looking for. A very pleasant album...
