Vibrant, Sweet Music.......2004-03-29

I have lately become interested in Brazilian music, and was particularly taken with the smooth, sweet guitar playing of Joao Gilberto. Violao by Nico Ferreira captures that style with arguably more advanced technique, and he creates a haunting, melancholy tone . The performance is inspired, and the recording work itself is incredible. You hear the snap of the strings, the fingertips sliding, the echo of the guitar in the room. You would swear you were sitting across from the performer in many of the recordings. This is perfect for acoustic guitar lovers who want something interesting and dynamic, but subtle enough to play in the background when it's called for.
