Customer Reviews:

5 out of 5 stars The Sovereign of hindi songs........2006-09-02

Indian movies are never dull performances, even if without it's 'sound of music' or melodious sitar's rhythm.Asha Bhosle gives breaths to lyrics and poems of many films's songs.Putting all together,Indian films seem to be as beautiful as the country---rich with culture, flowers, colours, music and dances as it's said that India is the whole World, the whole World is in India.
As much as Lata Mangeshkar,Bhosle has great voice not to be forgotten, especially if you watch Aa Gale Lag ja.

5 out of 5 stars Asha Bhonsle: Still the Queen of Bollywood.......2003-06-24

You only have to listen to Asha Bhonsle's new rendition of "Yehi woh Jagah Hai" from the 1967 Sharmila Tagore film "Yeh Raat phir nahin aayegi" to appreciate how amazing her voice is - and how the glamor of the late 60s as brought to life on the screen by Sharmila Tagore, Mumtaz and other stars of that era could never have been possible without her voice. For those of my generation, born only after she did some of her best work singing OP Nayyar's beautiful music, this is a wonderful look back. Needless to say, her updated renditions of songs from Umrao Jaan, Jawaani Diwani and other songs penned by RD Burman put a new shine on the golden years of Bollywood music. The albums also have songs from the over-choreographed, over-done 90s (songs which I know nothin about), but its the early stuff that shines.
