Live? Lively, for sure!.......2003-06-05

Although the Nandayapa family is a living legend, this doesn't mean that, how lively they may be, their recordings are automatically LIVE, as mentioned on this site. Unless a one-take-no-editing-recording is meant. Anyway, no sign of whatever audience. Which doesn't take of anything of their performance, although I prefer the Latin pieces above the somewhat superficially played "classical" arrangements (von Supp?, Chopin). If only the booklet could contain a little more than just a list of credits... their playing tradition and sound might need some explanation for listeners not familiar with Mexican or Guatemalan marimba playing!
