4 out of 5 stars **AMAZED**.......2004-09-29

U want electric xcitment...? U can get it from this album!

With the backdrop of guitars & bouncy drum beats u'd think some1s voice would b drowned. On the contrary Hyde soars with passion & emotion above the instrumentation, unlike some of the other unpolished J-rockers making the scene. Iýd even consider his voice the best instrument. When Hyde projects (& boy, can he eva!!) he does so with a 4ce so deep it melts u right in2 moods of sadness, mystery, & love. Even if u have just discovered Hydeý upon 1st listen (try ýHorizoný hehe) u will realize what I mean quite quickly.

The 1st song I heard from him was actually an English 1. Honestly it left me no hints that he was a J-rock artist (ý stop laughing at me, my ýMoonchildý DVD came 2 me late lol). It's only after I viewed a picture (a stunning 1by the way hehe) that I realized his cultural background...

What does this tell u? Well possibly that he has an interesting ability, 1 that enables him 2morph himself in2 a front-man of a variety of musical genres.

This is indeed rare. No lieý I am very impressed & still canýt decide which is more amazing; his English or his Japanese? An even more difficult question, does he pull his weight better as a solo artist or an artist working amongst the others in his group?

Iýve put this CD on my top ten list b/c, not only is it superior in musical aspects but lyrical 1s as well. Hyde flawlessly touches down on subjects of inner struggle, freedom, God... things that draw u in & help u 2 think. This project as a whole is very much a celebration of wonder, truth, light, darkness & the human condition.

I might b new 2the world of Hyde & L'Arc-En-Ciel... but my appreciation is strong!

ýPut me in2 ur collectionýý No problem Hyde! I just canýt ýwatch from the sidelinesýý I have 2own all ur cds (ROENTGEN here I comeý Iým collecting backwards but oh well lol!)ý every1 else should2 ;o) Can u tell I love the song Masquerade ;oD

5 out of 5 stars Hyde is awesome........2004-08-06

Athough still the vocalist of L'Arc~en~Ciel, Hyde also works solo, and without the different spices of the band in his music, he does well going solo. UNLIKE his previous album, Hyde plays and sings hardcore, American rock, and LIKE Roentogen, he still sings a lot of his songs English. I like "666" mainly 'cause it's just how I see Hyde, scary, seductive, passionate, thrilling, and fun. He can sing and play with so much passion that's it's difficult not to feel what he feels in his music. He is so awesome. It's easy for me to get lost in what he says for his English is not the best, but his deep, warm, handsome voice makes up for it. Though the man can be kind of controversial, he is a great singer, writer, and player, and he works very hard. This album is worth every dime and sweat.

4 out of 5 stars Very different from Roentgen..........2004-07-16

I bought this CD because, well, it was Hyde. I had known he was releasing a new album for awhile before it came out, but I hadn't known when exactly he was dropping it, and I happened upon it during one trip to my nearby Asahiya Bookseller. ^^ Needless to say, I bought it. I was also quite startled upon listening to it for the first time. The only songs I had heard from it at that time were the two singles (Hello and Horizon), and the rest of the album is quite a bit harder and darker than those two songs. It grows on you, though, and is never the less a very good album, one that ought to appeal to most J-Rock fans. The two singles are definitely standout songs, as well as Shining over You (my personal favorite from this album ^^), Fruits of Chaos and Hideaway.

The DVD was a nice touch, especially for overseas fans who can't watch the PVs on TV. The only bad thing about the DVD is that it's region 2. Hello is a great, and Horizon scared the bejeezus out of me the first time I watched it. But both are worth a watch if you have the time and an region 2 DVD player.
