Sorry guys but you can't like this CD!.......2001-06-07

If you say you like this CD it means you've not heard much Italian music. I'm Italian, I'm not a great fan of Italian music, but this Cd is the Italian equivalent of the Spice Girls, music for 14 year old kids. What surprises me is that some of the people who rate this CD 5 stars also reviewed music by the Nomadi, Vasco Rossi, Carmen Consoli. It's like comparing Kilye Minogue with the Rolling Stones! Vasco Rossi has made some beautiful music, Carmen Consoli is one of the greatest Italian musicians of all times, Lucio Battisti is probably the best Italian songwriter of all times, but MAx Pezzali (the person behind 883) is just somebody who should write jingles for TV commercials! Try to listen to the names I mentioned, and then come back and tell me if you still like 883. Ciao

883 is great but ?.......2001-02-14

883 is a great band but like D. said on the review. "Dove sei Remixes?" or "Where is Remixes?" I hope someday that 883 will come out w/a updated Album w/ just Mixes & Remixes of song from their newest album. 883 no doubt a up tempo group. even if you don't l'italiano. The way of they sings makes you feel happy inside your heart & soul. All italian singers , bands,& group. Have 1 thing in common. That is there classial roots. All try to put a bit of the italian heart & soul into their musica all the time! I hope who ever read this. That it will help you decide on if you get this CD or other ones. Ciao! Grazie Mille!

uplifting and cool.......2000-12-09

I've only been listening to Italian pop music for less than a year, having discovered some good Italian stations on the Web, but 883 have already become my favorite group, Italian or otherwise. My Italian isn't the best, but there is no mistaking the powerful uplifting spirit of their music. Personally I think Max (their founder/writer/singer/etc.) is a genius. As the other reviewers have noted, Grazie Milli, the title track, is an outstanding song, pure magic. Maybe it's just because it's the holiday season, but I think Luci di Natale is also in that same class. The CD on a whole has great songs, melodious and catchy, but with plenty of good rock to back them up and give them some attitude. I think this is at least a 5 star CD, although my favorite 883 CD is La Durre Legge del Gol, which I think really ROCKS. (Can't understand why it has been panned by reviewers here, but maybe my lack of proficiency in Italian has caused me to miss something) Anyhow, Grazie Mille is a really neat CD, and 883 are one cool buch of guys! Benissimo!

Good CD, but remix could have been included.......2000-10-12

I was in Italy this past summer and "La Regina del Celebrita" automatically caught my attention. After hearing it on the radio, I was hooked. A warning, though. The version I heard was the remix done by Eiffel 65. The version on the CD sounds a lot different. It sort of has an eighties feel to it, but that is just my opinion. I personally like the remix better. The CD is good, though--especially if you are new to the Italian music scene and want to start out your collection. Other recommendations: Luna Pop (for, obviously, pop songs) and Gigi D'Agostino "L'amour Toujours" for dance/club/techno music. The best song on that one is the title track.
