Customer Reviews:

5 out of 5 stars Emotionally stirring..........2000-06-21

Every now and then I come across an album that is so good I want to go out and buy twenty copies and send them out to friends. Selah is one of those albums. One of the most emotionally stirring groups of songs that I have heard in years. Completely spontaneously, I noticed that my heart chakra was opening and resonating with several of the tracks on this CD.

In some ways, Selah is classical New Age music by virtue of Stone's exclusive use of contemporary electronic synthesizers amd yet, it is rooted in the ancient Jewish musical traditions of Israel. There are complex melody lines with gentle, surprising turns in movement, all with a definite Eastern flavoring. It is a little like Yanni mellowed out on Prozac.
