Customer Reviews:

5 out of 5 stars highest recommendation.......2002-09-13

Las Vegas based Soundstream is a welcomed discovery. Since purchasing this CD several days ago I have become completely hooked and amazed by this wonderful disk.

Quite honestly, I hand out five stars on Amazon like I hand out five dollar bills. But this endeavor by Soundstream is certainly deserving of the very highest recommendation.

Each artist is well versed in playing a variety of instruments, some rather exotic including didjeridoo, djembre and congas. The entire disk is instrumental. No voice is needed however as the instruments tell stories of desert crossings, contemplating eternity and introspection. A real musical journey if there ever was one.

I have always been a fan of percussion heavy music such as Santana, the incredible live performances of Carl Palmer (ELP), Korai Orom and more recently Azigza from the West coast. Soundstream's decided percussion direction is very much to my liking as I sometimes grow tired of the traditional lead guitar as the focus.

A total of nine songs on the CD ranging from just over 3 and one half minutes to the eleven minute plus "Blue Desert Caravan" create diversity and texture and make the perfect statement in the appropriate amount of time. Each artist/instrument "speaks" in measured balance and creative expression.

This is one CD that needs to be experienced. I hope to see this band live some day when I visit Las Vegas, Nevada.

Oh, one more thing, I hate mainstream music, so whenever I come across something like this I am quickly reasurred that real talent still does exists in an unperverted form.

5 out of 5 stars Soundstream sparks the right notes.......2001-10-28

While feeling the beat a relaxed warmth comforts the crowd. Instrumental harmony. Great music!
