One of my favorite cds.......2003-07-15

After playing "When Last We Spoke..." in my own steel band, when Tom came as a guest artist, it floated around in my head for weeks and weeks. It's a change from the high-energy socas and Panorama style pieces we usually play. The melody is so simple, but so beautiful. It's one of those melodies that when you hear it the first time, you feel as if you've been waiting your whole life to hear it... or if you are an aspiring composer, you think, 'Of course... Why didn't I come up with that?' The variation is even better. It flows brilliantly above the melody, which sounds even warmer and more comfortable played on those lovely guitar pans, and gives me the shivers every time. I bought this CD for that song, and discovered that the rest of the tracks are gems, too. Tom, Alan Lightner, Jim Munzenrider, Darren Dyke, Ray Holman, Andy Narrell, and their supporting musicians all have massive amounts of talent and very high standards of musicianship - I have had the pleasure to see all but Andy Narrell work in person - and you can hear it on this album. The production is also very clean... this a great CD and is never out of my CD player for long.

Trying to find words!.......2001-06-27

After enjoying the first two CDs by Tom and Pan Ramajay, I must say that I was totally disappointed with "Back for More". I waited for more than a year before purchasing this CD...I should have waited longer. The CD definitely lacks punch. I'll keep my copy and still encourage other lovers of Steeldrum music to purchase 'Back for More', however, don't expect the excitment of the first two works by Pan Ramajay, It just isn't there. It's sad, for I still believe Tom to be a great writer.

She Won't Dance.......2000-07-24

If this single gets airplay, it's going on the charts. One of today's top twenty-five under jazz or alternative. This group is one of the of the unknowns with a large local following, and my bet is that they become popular within the next five years and will bring this single back for the masses.
