Great catchy music........2005-05-18

I have enjoyed their music from the first time I listened to it when I 15 years old. Sometimes a bit kitschy (schmalzig), it is nevertheless nice to listen to. For those interested in an english version of their songs, you might be able to find their english only CD. "Baby, its you" is just as enjoyable as "Tausendmal Du"!

The Muenchner Freiheit is one of the best german groups.They surviced "Die neue Deutsche Welle",and all their songs are very much upbeat and "feel good"

A better-than-good hits compilation........2000-07-04

Mýnchener Freiheit is a cool group. Their musicianship and songwriting skills are quite impressive. They are a German band that sings in their native language. I started listening to them a few months ago. The style of music that they play is pop. A band that they sound a bit similar to is Toto. Keyboards are pretty prominent in Mýnchener Freiheit's music. The guitar playing takes more of a secondary role, usually. The 19 songs on this hits compilation come from several albums. All of the songs are listenable and energetic. My favorite ones are "Tausendmal Du," "Liebe Auf Den Ersten Blick," "Ich Will Dich Nochmal," and "Einfach Wahr." The backing vocals of "Tausendmal Du" are very impressive (The tune is really catchy.). One of the reasons that I like this band is that they have very good backing vocals. The keyboard playing is also skilled. Vocalist, Stefan Zauner is a good singer, too. His vocals are very likeable. This band also has another hits compilation called Simply the Best. Simply the Best has 15 tunes on it and is a more current hits package. Both are equally good, though. Each has songs that the other hasn't. This disc is a good place to start if you're interested in Mýnchener Freiheit. I actually give this album 3.5 stars. It's worth a listen.

not many groups out of germany can say that they do not sound tacky when singing about love and feelings in german - this one is well recorded and perfect for those lovely candlelight dinners and after hours. highly recommended for the over 30's
