Customer Reviews:

5 out of 5 stars Billy Ze Kick not dead!!.......2002-02-12

i remember i was listening to BZK, about 10 years ago. Now i can see they're still here and they're becoming famous out of france, it make me pleased.
Their music is great, lyrics are so fun, i can't really express it in english, but u got to listen to it once in your life, and then you can understand what i mean.
but you got to understand french very well coz there are many puns and it isnt easy to understand sometimes :P

5 out of 5 stars hmmmmm...........2001-06-10

obviously the other reviewer does not understand french...this CD is lyrically more mature and is probably the funiest thing i have ever heard in songs. Mangez Moi! is by far BZK's best song on any albums.

2 out of 5 stars Get BZK's album "Paniac" instead.......2000-05-27

I bought BZK's album "Paniac" and was thoroughly impressed by it, and I was expecting "Gamins" to impress me also -- after all, it did preceed Paniac, right? Unforunately, "Gamins" doesn't hold a candle to "Paniac". The sound of this album is entirely different -- it has more of a 'street' sound to it -- "Panic," in contrast, sounds more "professional", and a little more like pop-music. A lot of the backup singers on this album remind me of random kids on the street chanting playground rhymes. There are some good points to "Gamins", however. When the music is good, it reminds you of the circus, and it has a neat sound to it. Mangez-Mois is a fun song, though it doesn't sound like BZK is singing. Speaking of the wonderful singer, *WHEN* she is on this album, she shines, as always! ...Unfortunately, there isn't much of her on "Gamins"-- she's the "lead" for perhaps 2 or 3 songs. For many of the other songs, there are some unknown guys singing... So, overall, I was really disappointed by this album...I hope BZK releases more music, though -- more like Paniac.
