Customer Reviews:

5 out of 5 stars CD.......2006-10-28

Awesome CD, really good. I have a question though, who was the girl singing on Whiskey You're The Devil?

4 out of 5 stars Great Album and nice surprise........2006-10-06

I ordered this CD thinking it was the Irish Brigade I was familiar with. To my surprise, this was a different band altogether. The other band, with the exact same name is out of Belfast, Ireland. Anyway, it was a nice surprise and I enjoy this album very much. There are a lot of Irish CDs to choose from; some good, some great, some a complete waste of time. This is a gem and I'm happy I came across it and will look out for more.

5 out of 5 stars Irish Brigade at their best!.......2004-03-07

If you can't see them live, then this is GREAT. I miss their tours to Chicago. My congrats to Mike and Sean (and friends) on a lovely CD. God Bless. As for getting on Amazon: tell Mic the public just loves them this much!

5 out of 5 stars Live on Carnival Cruise Lines.......2003-02-21

As an Irish Brigade/Old Triangle fan for many years, of course I loved it! Saw them in Omaha last weekend and Half Time in St. Paul won't be the same without them tonight. For the other reviewer who mentioned the audience participation songs, I agree and their Caribbean cruise in Feb. 2004 would be the perfect place to record it. "Alice" is especially funny when we shout Wallace instead of Alice! BUT Mike would really like to know how this CD ended up on Amazon.com without either of them knowing about it.

5 out of 5 stars Great song selection with a broad range of emotion.......2002-11-13

The Irish Brigade have put together a great collection of traditional celtic music along with more contemporary fan favorites.
If you are not familiar with the band, they are normally a duo made up of Mike Wallace and Sean Conway. Both musicians normally play a variety of instruments that include guitar, bass, flutes, whistles and bodhran along with their vocals. On this CD they are joined by some of their friends. I especially enjoyed Karie Obergs lyric's on "Whisky you're the Devil."

Throughout the CD the tempo is constantly changing and you never know what they are going to play next. They start off with a couple reels and then play the up beat "Rocky Road to Dublin". From there they slow it down with "Carrick Fergus" and follow that up with a couple of jigs. The CD also features fan favorites like "On the Road", "Black is the Color" and Buddy Holly's "Peggy Sue".

The only aspect this CD is missing from their live act is any of the songs where they encourage crowd participation. Fans and casual observers of the band always leave a performance remembering songs like "Alice" and Van Morrison's "Gloria"

This is by far my favorite CD by the Irish Brigade. I recommend you buy it and if you have a chance catch one of their live performances.
